Who we are

Filament Producer

Extrudr | FD3D GmbH develops and produces technical monofilaments that are used in additive manufacturing for 3D printing. The company is a pioneer in the production of filaments from bio-based plastics.

What started in 2014 like a typical start-up in a garage has grown rapidly over the last few years. Driven by the idea of realising their own ideas with 3D printing, the company was founded by Marco Depaoli and Johannes Früh. Today, countless customers realise their own ideas with Extrudr filaments.

Currently, the administration and research & development are located in Lauterach (Austria). In Lustenau (Austria), high quality filaments are produced on 12 extrusion lines. The products are shipped to customers from the directly adjacent warehouse. In the future, all employees will be reunited at one location when the new building in Lustenau is accomplished.

Innovation not only in terms of progress but also the idea of independence from the old methods that had been holding us back. We challenged ourselves not only to create high-quality products, but also to improve the manufacturing process and develop the proven efficiency of automated workflows.

For us revolution came when we decided to create our own machines from the bottom up, this allowed us to overcome common manufacturing issues and be independent throughout. This independence and drive has allowed us to create the best products through ease of manufacture.
