When passion for motorsport meets cutting-edge technology, true legends come to life. This incredible 1:5 scale model of the 1967 Lotus 49 Formula 1 car is not just a display piece – it’s a masterclass in precision 3D printing, engineering, and craftsmanship.

Crafted using&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="https://extrudr.com/en/at/products/greentec-pro-cf/">GreenTEC Pro CF</a> and printed on a 0.6 mm ruby nozzle, the project showcases the true potential of high-performance filament and additive manufacturing.

Every component of this Lotus 49 replica was meticulously designed based on historical documentation and photographs. True to the original, the model is fully assembled using mechanical fasteners, enabling separate finishing and painting of each part – just like a real race car.

One of the project’s standout features: Even custom tools for bending aluminum tubing (used in the roll bar and exhaust system) and molds for thermoforming the plexiglass windshield were produced using 3D printing. A perfect example of additive manufacturing supporting both form and function.
