Extrudr at the Lange Nacht der Forschung 2026

28 avril 2026

On April 24th, Extrudr proudly took part in the Lange Nacht der Forschung Vorarlberg 2026, welcoming visitors to our site in Lustenau as part of one of Austria’s largest science and innovation events.

Across Vorarlberg, more than 5,300 visitors explored research, technology, and future-oriented innovations across 110 interactive stations. At Extrudr, we welcomed around 1,000 guests, giving us the opportunity to engage directly with a wide and diverse audience throughout the evening.

Many visitors from the area came to learn about 3D printing.

Making 3D Printing Tangible

Our goal for the evening was simple: make 3D printing understandable, accessible, and engaging for everyone, regardless of age or prior knowledge.

Visitors experienced the full journey of a 3D printed part:

  • from raw materials
  • to filament production
  • all the way to the finished printed object

For many guests, this was their very first direct interaction with 3D printing technology. Seeing the process live, asking questions, and engaging with our team turned abstract concepts into something tangible and memorable.

Curiosity Across Generations

One of the most remarkable aspects of the event was the diversity of visitors. From young children conducting their first “experiments” to experienced professionals diving into technical discussions, the evening reflected exactly what the Lange Nacht der Forschung stands for: making innovation accessible to everyone.

This aligns closely with the broader event, where topics ranged from artificial intelligence and robotics to sustainable energy and advanced materials, highlighting how deeply research and technology are embedded in everyday.

A Small Highlight with Big Impact

One of the simplest yet most popular elements at our booth were our 3D printed keychain giveaways.

They disappeared faster than we could produce them, demonstrating that even small, tangible objects can spark excitement and curiosity about additive manufacturing.

Strong Roots in Vorarlberg

For Extrudr, participating in this event was about more than showcasing technology. It was an opportunity to reconnect with the region where our journey began over 12 years ago.

As a company that develops and produces filament in Austria, being part of a regional initiative that brings together research, education, and industry is something we deeply value. Events like this highlight the importance of collaboration between companies, research institutions, and the next generation of talent.

We would like to thank everyone who visited us, asked questions, and shared their curiosity. Your interest and enthusiasm made this evening a true success.

We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to open our doors and continue sharing the world of 3D printing.
