Winter 3D Print Ideas: Community Designs, Designers & Materials at Extrudr
Behind every great 3D print is a designer worth discovering. This winter, we 3D printed a selection of winter decorations to decorate our office and support our winter campaign. We turned to the 3D printing community and chose a mix of playful, modern, and functional designs that work just as well as office decor as they do as gift ideas or seasonal prints.
Let's take a closer look at the designers behind these winter 3D prints, the models we selected, and the materials we used, including PLA and PETG, to bring each piece to life.
Christmas Gnome by watchthemaker (MakerWorld 1927536)

A modern and friendly interpretation of a classic winter figure. Clean shapes and a balanced design make this gnome a great example of how decorative 3D prints can feel playful without being overdone. And what else? You can assemble it after individually printing the parts. No AMS required!
Material:
- Body: PLA NX2 MATT Military Green
- Nose: PLA NX2 MATT Military Beige
- Beard: PLA NX2 MATT White
- Hat: PETG Red
Chosen for its reliable print behavior and clean surface finish, making it ideal for decorative 3D prints with visible details.
Sleigh Giftbox by LetHimPrint (MakerWorld 1731323)

A winter decoration that’s also functional. This sleigh-shaped box works as gift packaging and as a reusable seasonal print.
Material:
- PLA NX2 MATT Brown
- PETG Red
Its dimensional accuracy ensured precise fits and smooth edges across multiple prints.
Stars (3-piece set) by Chris 3D World (MakerWorld 1854744)

Minimalist star designs that fit seamlessly into different environments, from office windows to shelves or tables.
Material:
- PLA NX2 MATT White
The matte surface reduces reflections and creates a calm, understated winter look.
Christmas Tree Ornament by SabreDesign (MakerWorld 867299)

Designer: SabreDesign (MakerWorld 867299)
A clean and timeless ornament that works well in both modern and classic interiors.
Material:
- PETG White
Printed smoothly even at finer layer heights, resulting in a clean surface straight off the build plate.
Pine Cone Decoration by T.B.K.A. 3D Design (MakerWorld 1831599)

Inspired by natural forms, this design shows how organic structures translate beautifully into winter-themed 3D prints.
Material:
- PLA NX2 MATT Brown
The matte finish complements the natural geometry and keeps the look subtle.
Christmas Snowman by SabreDesign (MakerWorld 840180)

A winter classic with a friendly character, used across several office spaces and seasonal setups.
Material:
- Body: PLA NX2 MATT White
- Hat, Nose and Buttons: PLA High Speed Black
- Scarf: PLA High Speed Light Blue
It just gives the snowman that glamorous and modern touch. And as the body is hollow, you can even add an LED tealight underneath.
Christmas Reindeer by SabreDesign (MakerWorld 2003920)

A strong silhouette that works both as a standalone piece and as part of a larger winter scene.
Material:
- PLA NX2 MATT Military Beige
Adds a modern, reduced aesthetic to a traditional winter motif. And you save filament as the body is hollow! Here, you can also add an LED tealight underneath to give it that extra winter glow.
Japandi LED Tealight House by SabreDesign (MakerWorld 1963250)

One of our office favorites. Inspired by Japandi design principles, it combines minimalism with warm, atmospheric lighting. Just make sure to use an LED Tealight to avoid any winter accidents.
Material:
- PLA NX2 MATT Military Dark Green
Thin walls printed reliably, allowing light to softly diffuse through the structure.
Modern Christmas Tree by 3D2K (MakerWorld 1885816)

A reduced, modern take on the Christmas tree, focusing on form rather than decoration.
Material:
- PLA NX2 MATT Emerald Green
Highlights geometry and keeps the overall look calm and balanced.
Why Make the Right Material Choice for Winter 3D Prints
Even for decorative 3D prints, material choice has a visible impact. Surface finish, consistency, ease of printing, and durability all influence the final result. For this winter collection, PLA NX2 MATT was our primary material for clean aesthetics and reliable printing, while PETG was used where extra durability was required.
A Thank You to the 3D Printing Community
These winter prints highlight what makes 3D printing special: collaboration. Designers create the files, makers bring them to life, and materials define the final result.
We’d like to thank all the designers featured in this post for sharing their work with the community. If you’re looking for winter 3D print ideas or seasonal decoration inspiration, we hope this collection gives you a useful starting point.
Winter may not last forever, but good designs and good prints work all year round.
