There are a few things to consider: Many Extrudr materials are food safe on their own (see data sheets). However, not every color is food safe (info in additional information sheet). Bacteria can easily settle in the spaces between the individual layers. It is therefore advisable to close these gaps with a food-safe coating. FDA approval is always necessary for the end product, because the end product has to meet the criteria.
